Obiettivi formativi

Il seminario affronta questioni chiave del consumo e della produzione di contenuti audio nella società contemporanea, attraverso un itinerario incorniciato dall'introduzione sul mercato di Sony Walkman (1979) ed Apple iPod (2001). Incidentalmente, queste due tecnologie hanno contrassegnato una generazione, quella dei Millennials, che indica i nati tra il 1980 e il 2000. Tra i temi trattati spiccano le trasformazioni a livello di fruizione, distribuzione e creazione di materiali audio, le ripercussioni a livello tecnico, sociale, culturale ed economico del passaggio dall’analogico (l’audiocassetta) al digitale (il formato MP3), le nuove modalità di ascolto e condivisione di suoni, l'avvento di inediti formati (per es. il podcast) e dei relativi ecosistemi.

Metodi didattici

Il formato del laboratorio è seminariale e prevede quattro lezioni frontali della durata di due ore ciascuna.

L’esame verte sui materiali del corso e, precisamente sugli appunti, presentazioni e risorse audio fornite dal docente, disponibili sulla IULM Community.

Si indica di seguito una bibliografia consigliata per approfondire i temi discussi. Per i non-frequentanti, è obbligatorio lo studio di alcuni testi.

Il docente riceve gli studenti ogni lunedì dalle ore 14.00 alle ore 15.00 in IULM.
