In the third episode of Mr. Bit, featured in the May 2010 issue of WIRED - the one with Fiorello on the cover (?) - I discuss one of the greatest graphic novels of this decade: Apostolos Doxiadis and Christos Papadimitriou's Logicomix. An Epic Search for Truth, which was recently released in Italy by Guanda Editore. This monumental book "recounts the spiritual odyssey of philosopher Bertrand Russell. In his agonized search for absolute truth, Russell crosses paths with legendary thinkers like Gottlob Frege, David Hilbert, and Kurt Gödel, and finds a passionate student in the great Ludwig Wittgenstein." A must-read. And if you like Logicomix, you'd love Davide Osenda's Ultima Lezione a Gottinga (001 Edizioni), another fantastic comic book that explores the inner workings of mathematics. Albeit much shorter (80 pages vs. 700), Osenda's story is as compelling and poignant as Doxiadis and Papadimitriou's. Sequential art indeed.
